As technology rapidly improved over the past decade, we noticed a remarkable change in people -- primarily, employer to employee relationships, and how information-sharing and transparency was working to empower them. This paradigm-shift served as the platform for RoadScout's conception.
The Challenges
Our challenge was to build a solution that had the ability to manage and track a mobile workforce using their existing cellphones without the need or expense of additional hardware, installation and data plans.
Technology
Technology has vastly improved over the past 20 years, while cost of ownership has never been so affordable. In 2010, Apple's iTunes store exceeded 600,000 mobile applications, while newcomer Android, broke the 200,000 app mark in their Marketplace. There's no denying that "there's an app for that."
The Solution
This wasn't about building another "Big-Brother" tool, but instead, using the latest and most cost-effective technologies, to create a solution that disseminates information company-wide.
