Can I use RoadScout Mobile Tracker service with my existing mobile service provider?
RoadScout Mobile Tracker is not carrier-dependent and works with virtually any cell phone carrier service. Our mobile applications are built for iPhone, Android, and most BlackBerry smart phones.
How do I access RoadScout Mobile Tracker?
To access RoadScout Mobile Tracker, perform the following steps:
1. Login at: http://track.roadscout.com.
2. The first time you access RoadScout Mobile Tracker, you will see a Privacy
Consent page. After reading the terms, select the checkbox, and click I Agree.
3. Your default screen will be the Mobile Tracker Dashboard. All features are
built into the 4-tabs at the top left of the screen.

then clicking Add User.
2. Fill in each user's information, click OK, or Add another User.
3. Once your users are setup in the system, they will receive an email message
with their login information, as well as a link to download the RoadScout
Mobile Tracker software directly to their mobile phone.
4. From their mobile phone's browser, they can simply select the hyperlink to
download the RoadScout Mobile Tracker software. This process only takes a
few seconds. Once downloaded and installed, your users only need to enter
their username, and password, and then select the "Login" button to access
the system.
5. You will be able to see and communicate with your mobile employees
immediately from either your RoadScout Dashboard console or from your
mobile device dashboard.

How do charges work for RoadScout Mobile Tracker?
RoadScout Mobile Tracker has no binding contracts. Each device that you want
to locate must be subscribed to RoadScout. Your credit card will be charged automatically every month. We've made account management easy too.
Simply login, click "My Account" and add, edit, or delete, user accounts at any time. You can even cancel service hassle-free.

Can I locate any device, or only those under my account?
You can locate only the devices that are on your RoadScout Mobile Tracker account and for which you are the account administrator or a delegated administrator. Additionally, your users can locate and communicate with each other as well.
Will employees know they are being located?
You should inform your employees ahead of time that you are implementing RoadScout Mobile Tracker service and that they their devices can be located.

Do I need to load special software on my phone or computer to run Mobile Tracker?
You only need to load RoadScout Mobile Tracker software on your mobile

Do I need a separate data service or equipment to use Mobile Tracker?
No, RoadScout Mobile Tracker uses your existing mobile device and data plan.

How many mobile devices can RoadScout's Mobile Tracker locate?
There is no limit to the number of individual devices you can locate using RoadScout Mobile Tracker. Whether you have one mobile employee or a few thousand, RoadScout's Mobile Tracker service can handle your needs.
If I locate multiple mobile devices, will the map scale accordingly?
Yes. Whether you locate a group of devices or locate devices individually, the
map will scale to show all located devices.

Can I "follow" a device?
One of Mobile Tracker's features is the Hot-Track mode. It allows you the ability to "follow" a device as long as that device is logged into the system. Depending on your plan's refresh rate, you will be able to get updates accordingly. You will be able to see the location, speed and timestamp.
Why can't I locate some of my devices?
There are several possible reasons why a device cannot be located:
- It may not be activated for RoadScout Mobile Tracker service.
- It may be out of the coverage area.
- It may not be powered on.
- It may be in use for a voice call (carrier-dependent).
Does RoadScout Mobile Tracker use Global Positioning System (GPS) technology? How do I know the accuracy of a subscriber's location?
Yes, RoadScout Mobile Tracker is a GPS-based service. Located subscribers are represented by blue directional arrows on the map. By clicking on the arrow,
you can see specific information about this device. (For example, the employee location, direction, and speed.) RoadScout's SmartTrak technology, uses GPS to locate your mobile workforce's mobile devices. If GPS signal is lost or dropped, RoadScout service will switch over to cellular triangulation algorithm to locate and track a device. Generally, a device being used indoors has a less precise location result than one located outdoors. If signal is totally lost, SmartTrak con- tinues to gather data and queues is up until a signal is re-established, then sends that data to the servers so no data is lost.

What is the time period for which my employees' location-history information is stored and displayed? What happens to the location history after this time period?
RoadScout's Mobile Tracker saves your employees' location data for a period of
3 months. During this period, you can save the data to a CVS or as a PDF file. After this period, it is deleted from our system.

Does RoadScout Mobile Tracker provide breadcrumb trails?
Yes. Breadcrumbing is one of the best features of Mobile Tracker. The
frequency of your breadcrumb data points will depend on what service plan you're on. RoadScout offers flexible plans for your organization and the refresh rate is chosen for each user based on your needs (currently 10 min, 5 min, or 2 min refresh rate options).

How often can I export Activity reports?
You can export your Activity reports as often as you'd like, within the 3-month period that we store your data. After that time period, all data over 3 months

Can I search for a specified address or other kinds of location?
Yes, RoadScout Mobile Tracker has a Search feature, powered by Google. This feature gives you all the power of Google to find an address or person in the map area.
What are Landmarks?
You can find and save custom locations with the Landmark feature of RoadScout Mobile Tracker. A landmark could be a routine delivery stop, the address of a favorite restaurant, or even your office location. It could also be a location you find using the Search feature. You can view your saved landmarks on a map and send a located employee directions to or from any landmark. It's a great feature for outside salespeople who want to quickly "landmark" a potential customer and call on them at a later time.
What is the default map location when I log in to Mobile Tracker?
By default, RoadScout Mobile Tracker displays a map of the area for the Zip
Code provided for your account. As long as you have Active users logged into RoadScout Mobile Tracker, the map
view is that of your Active users.

I need a feature that is not available with RoadScout Mobile Tracker. How can I request that the feature be added as part of a future release?
